Vice President's Message
As Vice President, my job is to ensure the proper and efficient operation of the work rules of this Membership. This is a two-way street, however. The Administration of the ACFD needs to be held equally as accountable as this Union. Unfortunately, we are sometimes our own worst enemies. I thoroughly believe in the premise that the more knowledge and understanding an individual has, the less likely they are the be taken advantage of.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and OAG 23.003 Overtime Call In are the two most misunderstood documents in our organization. This is bewildering since they affect us every day of the year. I urge every single Member to read, review, and understand these documents for their benefit and protection. If you are denied a right afforded by any policy or the MOU, the Executive Board and I will be there to assist in correcting the issue.
I have never been one to hold my tongue, both good and bad, and have never been afraid to address things head on. I may not always have an answer, but I will find one. I may not always agree, but I will provide you every ounce of information. I believe that right is right, and wrong is wrong. It is with that mentality that I serve every individual in this Association.
Humbly,
Eddie Dutch
